“Sound Mind in a Sound Body” is a famous quote by Swami Vivekananda. If things other than academics and high scores are not so important in today’s ‘race-ahead’ world of college education, it sure is a tad misconception at BIET! There are quite a few things considered as equally important, if not more, on its campus. Right after a dusty welcome on the offer from the super-dusty roads similar to the entrance of an artillery base of the game ‘Call of Duty’ leading to its campus, can one find a gate (gate is just the way they refer to... Civil Engineering is a professional engineering course that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. It is the oldest engineering stream and it was started in the year 2008 in Bharat Institute of Engineering and Technology(BIET). The donation fee for this branch ranges from Rs.3-4 lakhs, and most of the students come through the management quota. The college is situated in the outskirts of the city, on Ibrahimpatnam road. There are almost 20-25 buses covering all parts of Hyderabad.
We are indebted to our gallant forefathers, who defied the ruthless might of the British oppressors and sacrificed everything during the freedom struggle. We salute all of them – the sung and the unsung heroes – with utmost reverence and gratitude. Those great souls not just thought of the un-thinkable and achieved the un-achievable. Yes, they contributed a lot more in the aftermath of that epic victory! Not just achieving sovereignty to the nation, those visionaries ensured that we had a unique ‘constitution’, which promised all rights... Read→
In these times where ‘academics’ form a major perspective in any professional college’s prospectus, the role of sports and games in a student’s life has become even more important as it takes him/her to a different level of mental toughness, endurance and most importantly, it gives him/her a ‘fresh change’. In most of the professional colleges, over the recent years, games and sports have been considered as ‘extra-curricular activities’ even though they rightfully form an integral component of the regular curriculum.... They say ‘Service to mankind is service to God‘ and when the floods had taken its toll on millions of innocent and helpless people in between the 28th of September to the 3rd of October rendering them homeless in the interiors of Andhra Pradesh, many people and organisations came forward with an intention; an intention which was filled with care, concern and most importantly, humanity.
Similar tenets of humanity and brotherhood were followed in Bharat Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET). The college had organized a ‘Flood... Read→
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned educationist had once quoted, “The students always deserve more than what they usually get because they are the real patrons of young India.” Similar quotes like this one are losing their ground in today’s times, where education has become a monopolistic scheme. A student joins a professional college by paying hefty sum of money, hoping for an independent future, hoping that there would be some aid for his / her talent, some monetary benefit from the college, which will relieve his / her parents’... Ever thought how this catchy word ‘Spiritualism’ has gained so much of importance amongst the youth in recent times? Even if someone says, “I am Spiritual”, it leads to reactions like, ‘Oh that’s so cool!’, ‘Do you meditate often?’ or ‘Do you gain peace of mind?’ etc. Similar kinds of reactions were observed at the ‘Invocation’ programme held at Bharat Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET) on the 19th of August, Wednesday.
Post lunch hour, it was announced through a circular to everyone that an event named ‘Invocation’... Read→
There was once a time when people never thought they would come up with something like a computer, but today nobody can imagine their lives without computers. The IT industry brought great changes in the lives of many people, mostly Indians. Many of them started setting their goals to become a ‘Software Engineer’. There’s a saying which means, the more one will greed for it, the more one will loose it and thus happened with this industry. Today it’s in a loss due to recession and financial crisis in the world, but has this changed many minds?... Read→
“You just cannot get rid of two things in your life, one is a woman and the other is a medicine”, Louis Pasteur once jokingly quoted. Though the students of B. Pharmacy at Bharat Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) tend to agree with the above quotation, they also have something to add to it. “We don’t just sell medicines, we make them”, say a group of enthusiastic future pharmacists of this college. Located at one of the best campuses ever seen or heard of, Bharat college of Pharmacy, affiliated to JNTU, was established in the... Read→
Engineering is a field that has recently gained so much impetus that the self-claimed ‘I am an Engineering student’ itself says that one is ‘someone’ in a crowd of thousands. This is the general conception among many. Most of the insiders though feel that Engineering is like a local train, where one gets into it with people pushing from behind and eventually gets out of it in desperation. The future ‘Extremely Cool Engineers’ of ECE at Bharat Institute Of Engineering And Technology (BIET) beg to differ though. The Head of the... Read→
